YEAR201016. 11. 2010 - We have been awarded the gold prize within the framework of the "Busan Choral Festival & Competition" in the Republic of Korea. 6. 11. 2010 - It has been nearly three weeks since we came back from our successful tour in Albania. Tomorrow, we are leaving for Busan, South Korea. This second largest city of the Republic of Korea will become the host city of the "Busan Choral Festival & Competition" which we will participate in. Apart from giving concerts in the framework of this festival, we will find some time to become familiar with the local cultural and eating habits of this fifteenth visited foreign country within our seven years of existence. 13. 10. 2010 - We are flying to Albania for the first time the day after tomorrow. We are going to give three concerts at three different places within a few days. The final gala-concert will be at the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet in the capital of Albania, Tirana. All concerts are taking place within the "European Chamber Choral Festival of Albania". 21. 6. 2010 - We are going to sing new cycle called Songs from Tramtarie written by Czech composer Jan Vicar. The concert is within the International Choir Festival in Jihlava where we are coming back after four years. 1. 1. 2010 - We would like to thank you for co-operation in the passed year 2009. Thanks to you, we had the opportunity to sing i.a. in five European capital cities, perform on 61 concerts or TV programs and in the radio broadcast or dance on the 4th prestigious ball of the Gentlemen Singers and even invite five remarkable Czech and foreign guests to our chamber evenings in Hradec Králové. Allow us one more time to thank you for your support! We wish you all the best in the upcoming year 2010 and we will surely be looking forward to our future co-operation or meeting with you.
 YEAR200924. 12. 2009 - CHRISTMAS PRESENT FOR YOU!
Have yourselves the first present "under the Christmas tree". From this midnight till 23:59 on 26 December, you'll be able to download cycle of European carols IN EUROPAM NATUS EST in our Audio samples list. The cycle was written by "our" Canadian composer, Stephen Hatfield. We wish you pleasant listening as well as calm and peaceful Christmas. Thank you for your support which is greatly appreciated and we are looking forward to new concerts in the year 2010! 4. 12. 2009 - In France for the second time!
We are flying to France again after 4 months. This time, we'll add 3 Christmas concerts to the previous summer tour by singing in the agglomeration of the capital city and this short tour is going to culminate on 6 December When we enter the astonishing Cathédrale Saint-Louis des Invalides in Paris. And so, Paris is the fourth foreign capital city, this year, that we will have the opportunity to amaze with our singing skills. The first was Estonia Concert Hall in Tallin in January, then we sang in Berlin's Kleisthaus in July and the last was Westerkerk in Amsterdam where we sang in November and now we are going to score once again. 26. 11. 2009 - BACK IN THE NETHERLANDS!
We are flying for a short visit to the Netherlands this weekend. Since the first tour in 2004 we have been coming back annually to this wonderful kingdom. This time we are going to give two concerts in real refined places. There will be included some pieces by Dutch composer Maurice Pirenne, which we are going to perform in world premiere at our concert on 29th November at the largest Dutch cathedral in 's-Hertogenbosch with accompaniment of Dutch composer and organist Mark van Platen. The day before you will be able to hear our profile concert "Music without Borders" in the very heart of Amsterdam for the first time - at the Westerkerk. 22. 7. 2009 - GENTLEMEN SINGERS IN FRANCE FOR THE FIRST TIME!

Vocal Ensemble Gentlemen Singers is concertizing in Spain in these days. Its first four concerts in Bascountry were successful, the audience appreciated not only the vocal skills of the "Czech gentlemen", but also their speech in Spanish. 20. 10. 2008 - GENTLEMEN SINGERS ON TOURS!
Vocal Ensemble Gentlemen Singers is going to perform in three foreign countries within one month. Today they are concertizing twice in the Slovak Republic, newt week they are flying to Spain and their foreign "mission" will end up in the Netherlands next month...  12. 4. 2008 - GENTLEMEN SINGERS IN THE CAVES!
Vocal Ensemble Gentlemen Singers is going sing within its more than five years of existence in the caves for the first time. The "cave concert" will be held on Monday 21st April in the Mladec Caves which are situated in the region around the Morava River and the town of Litovel. The underground spaces are richly decorated with stalactites and stalagmites and sinter bulges at places. The cave has been known for ages and it is considered to be as one of the extremely significant paleonthological and archaeological localities. Air temperature is between 7° and 9° degrees C, air humidity ranges between 96 % and 100 %. If you join this concert, you can leave your evening gowns and suits at home...
 19. 3. 2008 - GENTLEMEN SINGERS NOMINATED FOR CULTURAL PRIZE!
"The Muse of Hradec Kralove" – is the name of the prize which annually awards the best cultural representation of the town of Hradec Kralove home and abroad. Vocal Ensemble Gentlemen Singers is among three nominated for 2007 (the picture shows the ensemble in its football strip during its festive performance within "Sportsman of the Year of Hradec Kralove"). The other two candidates are director of the Library of Hradec Kralove and director of the Museum of Eastern Bohemia. The ensemble appreciates this fact very much and owes to all its listeners. Whoever becomes a laureate of this prize, it is a great success only being nominated for such a young ensemble which has enriched the cultural scene for the period of five years...
 17. 3. 2008 - GENTLEMEN SINGERS BACK FROM THE NETHERLANDS!
Vocal Ensemble Gentlemen Singers arrived today from its seventh tour in the Netherlands. There were three concerts called "Music without Borders" and one performance broadcasted by Radio 4 from Concertgebouw in Amsterdam (at the picture). Other places were e.g. a well known Rosa Spier Huis in Laren, which is a home for composers, musicians and other artists of Dutch cultural scene, or Concertgebouw in Nijmegen. All concerts were enriched by great compositions written by Dutch composer Mark van Platen directly for the Vocal Ensemble Gentlemen Singers. The audience appreciated vocal skills of the ensemble with standing ovations and it looks forward to hearing the autumn’s concerts of the Gentlemen Singers. The tour was financially supported by Czech Centre in The Hague and the town of Hradec Kralove...
 13. 3. 2008 - GENTLEMEN SINGERS IN THE NETHERLANDS AGAIN!
Vocal Ensemble Gentlemen Singers is flying tomorrow for its weekend tour to the Netherlands. The ensemble performs in this country regularly and it has ingratiated with many listeners so far. This time the "Czech gentlemen" are going to introduce at three concerts their programme called "Music without Borders", their other performance from prestigious music hall Concertgebouw in Amsterdam will be broadcasted on Radio 4. All concerts will be enriched with compositions written by contemporary Dutch composer, Mark van Platen. The members of the Gentlemen Singers will come back to this country of "tulips, windmills and wooden shoes" in November 2008 again.
YEAR2007 31. 12. 2007 - WITHIN FIVE YEARS OVER 200 CONCERTS!
Vocal Ensemble Gentlemen Singers concertized 61 times in 2007. Last year the ensemble focused mainly on its domestic audience and sang at 50 different places all over the Czech Republic. The Gentlemen Singers performed also in the framework of some renowned festivals (Prague Music Festival, Golden Prague Festival, Festival of Ludwig van Beethoven, Festival of Fryderik Chopin, Festival of Antonin Dvorak, Klasika Viva & Blues Alive, etc.). Eleven concerts fell on foreign countries: in February they flew to Germany, one month later to Spain, in October they performed in the Netherlands, Slovakia and Tunisia. The achievement of last year was among others the realization of their own concert cycle called "Chamber Evenings with the Gentlemen Singers" held in the Philharmonic Hall of Hradec Kralove. They started to cooperate with Czech and foreign composers as well, e.g. Jan Vicar (CZ), Josef Melnar (CZ), Stephen Hatfield (CAN) or Mark van Platen (NL). They performed several times on TV and radio as well...

 23. 10. 2007 - GENTLEMEN SINGERS VISIT AFRICAN CONTINENT!
Vocal Ensemble Gentlemen Singers is flying on 26th October to Monastir, Tunisia, only four days after coming back from the Netherlands. Tunisia is a country situated on the Mediterranean coast of North Africa and a melting-pot of different civilizations which has always had a rich cultural activity. The members of the ensemble will be singing within "Czech day" in well known seaside resort area – Hammamet – and will introduce to local listeners the following day their programme "From the Renaissance to Spirituals".

 24. 9. 2007 - BANCHIERI SINGERS IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC!
The Philharmonic Hall of Hradec Kralove is going to celebrate "a festive day of vocal music" on Thursday 27th September. There is going to perform an excellent Hungarian ensemble Banchieri Singers which accepted Gentlemen Singers‘ invitation to participate in the concert cycle called "Chamber Evenings with the Gentlemen Singers". The Banchieri Singers have performed since 1988 e.g. in the U.S.A., Japan, Thailand, the Lebanon, Russia and almost in all European countries.  5. 9. 2007 - GENTLEMEN SINGERS INTRODUCE NEW PROGRAMME!
Vocal Ensemble Gentlemen Singers has prepared for its listeners new attractive programme called "Music without Borders". The conception of this programme comes out from a historical time-tested dividing of the concert into three parts. The first part ("European Contemporary Music") is focused on European vocal music coming from the 20th century and includes composers such as Estonian Veljo Tormis (*1930), French Francis Poulenc (1899 – 1963) or German Franz Biebl (1906 – 2001). The second third of the concert is called "On Folk Themes" and includes Czech and Slovak songs by Leos Janacek (1854 – 1928), Bohuslav Martinu (1890 – 1959) and newly also Eugen Suchon (1908 – 1993). The final part is devoted to popular songs and spirituals, among others imaginative arrangements of songs by the Beatles or Queen. This programme will be the right example of the contemporary music – better to say "music without borders".  15. 6. 2007 - GENTLEMEN SINGERS ON CZECH TELEVISION AGAIN!
The International Television Festival Golden Prague, organised by Czech Television, has become the world's most important television festival dedicated to music and dance on television. It ranks among the oldest and most renowned events of its kind. At its final gala-concert on 20th June there will appear the Vocal Ensemble Gentlemen Singers in a live transmission of Czech Television.  26. 5. 2007 - CHAMBER EVENINGS WITH THE GENTLEMEN SINGERS!
This is the title of a new concert cycle made by Vocal Ensemble Gentlemen Singers in co-operation with Hradec Králové Philharmonic Orchestra for the concert-season 2007/2008. The cycle includes four concerts of the Gentlemen Singers and their guests (renowned artists), thereby it is guaranteed high level of artistic quality and thematic variety.  26. 4. 2007 - NEW CD RECORDING BEGINS TOMORROW!
Vocal Ensemble Gentlemen Singers is going to record its third CD this week which will contain both cycles of Brigand Songs by Czech composer Bohuslav Martinu. The cycles were written in Rome, Italy fifty years ago, two years before the author’s death. In the second half of 2007 there will be another CD recording as a result of the long term co-operation with East-Bohemian Oncology Foundation...
 7. 4. 2007 - GENTLEMEN SINGERS & SPAIN!
Vocal Ensemble Gentlemen Singers arrived on Thursday 5th April from its premiere Spanish tour where the Gentlemen Singers:
spent eight days; gave five concerts (in Moraleja, Plasencia, Toledo, Salamanca and Soria); sang two concert programmes ("From the Renaissance to Spirituals" and "Travelling in Time"); enjoyed three free days (two in Madrid and one in Salamanca); were appreciated by hundreds of listeners in two churches, one cathedral and two concert halls; traveled 1,600 kilometres; and spent six and half hours in the skyway of Prague – Munich – Madrid – Frankfurt – Prague. And what will be their next Spanish tour? Let’s wait till the second half of 2008…
 2. 4. 2007 - GREETINGS FROM SPAIN BY THE GENTLEMEN SINGERS!
Vocal Ensemble Gentlemen Singers finds itself a good representative in the Spanish kingdom these days. The first three concerts met with an astonishing public acceptance including standing ovations and bravos. Besides performing at the concerts the members of the ensemble had the opportunity to enjoy two free days in the capital of Spain, Madrid.  25. 2. 2007 - IN GERMANY FOR THE THIRD TIME!
Vocal Ensemble Gentlemen Singers is going to spend the last day in February in Germany. The ensemble is flying to Dortmund on Wednesday 28th February. In Nordrhine-Westphalia the "gentlemen" have one concert there. They are flying back to Prague on Thursday 1st March at noon in order to be able to open the afternoon festive vernissage in their home town Hradec Kralove. In one month the ensemble will be performing abroad again. It will be the eighth visited foreign country.  3. 2. 2007 - Vocal Ensemble Gentlemen Singers had its jubilee 150th concert within its four years of existence. You can see new pictures made at the concert in the Philharmonic Hall of Hradec Kralove which is the home town of the members of the ensemble.
YEAR2006 30. 12. 2006 - Vocal Ensemble Gentlemen Singers came back all right on 26th December from the Netherlands and closed its year´s considerable concert activity:
Vocal Ensemble Gentlemen Singers had 62 concerts, therefrom the exact half was abroad: in February the ensemble flew to Germany for two concerts and it became the fifth visited foreign country after the U.S.A., Luxembourg, Poland and Holland. In April the "map" of foreign countries expanded with the Slovak Republic. The ensemble concertized again in July in Germany, in August it introduced with two concerts to Belgian listeners for the first time. It came back to Belgium in November again, one November week spent as usual in the Netherlands. During December it flew twice to the Netherlands again.
Vocal Ensemble Gentlemen Singers was invited in 2006 to various festivals, e.g. Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (Germany), Eté Musical de Roisin (Belgium), Ad Una Corda (Slovakia), Festival of International Chorus Art (Czech Republic), etc.
Vocal Ensemble Gentlemen Singers participated also in "Debonaire Personalities of the Year", in concert rendition of the musical "Fiddler on the Roof" or in a presentation ceremony of "Miss Internet" in Prague.
Vocal Ensemble Gentlemen Singers did not either forget to perform in benefit concerts. They bore the amount of 50,000 CZK.
 12. 12. 2006 - Vocal Ensemble Gentlemen Singers is leaving on 14th December to the Netherlands again. This time there will be twelve Christmas concerts. The arrival of the ensemble is planned on Boxing Day.

 9. 12. 2006 - The full house in Hardenberg, Netherlands rewarded with a thunderous standing ovation applause for the grand Thursday "Big Xmas Show" where participates in a large degree also the Vocal Ensemble Gentlemen Singers. It arrived all right yesterday in the morning from the first part of its December Holland tour. In the evening there was traditional annual "Christmas Party" of the Citizen-action public of the Gentlemen Singers and closest friends and acquaintances of the ensemble.

2. 12. 2006 - Vocal Ensemble Gentlemen Singers is coming back to the Netherlands after three weeks again. On Monday 4th December the ensemble is flying for five days to Amsterdam. After its successful concerts in the land of "tulips and windmills" the "Czech gentlemen" enter this time the project called "The Big Xmas Show" (DE GROTE KERSTSHOW). There the ensemble will be singing among others with the most famous Irish singer, Peter Corry. The Gentlemen Singers are flying back for a couple of days to the Czech Republic on Friday 8th December.  25. 11. 2006 - The citizen-action public of the Gentlemen Singers announces delightedly that it extended a common co-operation and signed a two-year contract on November 24th, 2006 about the sole representation of the Vocal Ensemble Gentlemen Singers with a director of the Prague professional artistic J+D AGENCY – MA Roman Janku (roman@agenturajd.net).
20. 11. 2006 - At web-pages of the Vocal Ensemble Gentlemen Singers were put two new reviews in English (press) which describe the last concert of the ensemble in the framework of November concert tour in Benelux. The pictures from this tour you will find in photos.  14. 11. 2006 - Vocal Ensemble Gentlemen Singers came back from its successful Benelux week-concert-tour. The concerts in the Netherlands and Belgium met with a large response. The Gentlemen Singers are flying to Holland in three weeks again so the Dutch audience has a great possibility to hear the ensemble in thirteen December concerts all over the Netherlands. This time, however, the Gentlemen Singers will be a part of the "Big Christmas Show".
1. 11. 2006 - Vocal Ensemble Gentlemen Singers is coming back to Belgium after its successful debut August-concerts there. The ensemble will spend the whole next week in the Netherlands where it performs regularly every year after its first concert tour in 2004. The Gentlemen Singers will have five concerts there this time, they will give three shorter performances for a musical school and the members of the ensemble will participate in a musical programme of a Dutch radio. 25. 10. 2006 - The proceeds of the June benefit concert (International Day of Multiple Sclerosis) of the Gentlemen Singers was 30,390 CZK (= appr. 1,100 EUR). This amount of money was sent to the bank account of the St. Joseph Home, which is the only non-state medical centre in the Czech Republic designed for people suffering from Multiple Sclerosis. 4. 10. 2006 - Vocal Ensemble Gentlemen Singers was forced to put off some of its concerts because of high busyness during Christmas days. Click on the actual concert calendar and you will find out if the Gentlemen Singers perform in your town. 9. 9. 2006 - Vocal Ensemble Gentlemen Singers is going to perform on 10th September 2006 in a picturesque Czech village called Libstat. Three years ago (September 2003) it was the town where the audience could hear the name "Gentlemen Singers" for the first time. Therefore the ensemble always likes coming back to this area. For the forth time the ensemble has received the invitation for the benefit "Libstat Late Summer Festival". The "gentlemen" try to help to other people thanks to their benefit concerts in September in their home-town Hradec Kralove as well.  21. 8. 2006 - Vocal Ensemble Gentlemen Singers is going to concertize for the first time in Belgium. It will be the seventh visited foreign country of its history. The first concert takes place in the capital, Brussels, the next concert will be in Roisin in the framework of the Festival Eté Musical de Roisin.
 8. 7. 2006 - There could not be a better ending of the third concert season of the Vocal Ensemble Gentlemen Singers. The ensemble concertized in reputedly nicest monastery-area of the northern Germany, in small town called Dobbertin. After being accommodated in four-star hotel Linstow in which the members of the ensemble enjoyed e.g. tropical pool or sauna, the next day the Gentlemen Singers performed in the framework of "Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern". The concert was held in monastery´s quadrangle, the weather was fine and the concert atmosphere great. From the beginning of the concert the audience lapped up not only each composition, but also moderating in German language. In the first part of the concert there were classical compositions, the second one was dedicated to various compositions written by Czech composers. The whole concert was appreciated by very spontaneous applause so there had to be added some extra songs at the end of the concert…

 2. 7. 2006 - The first day in July spent the Vocal Ensemble Gentlemen Singers in the Festival of International Chorus Art. The performance was appreciated by thunderous applause and the ensemble got favourable response not only from public and colleagues from other choirs, but also from prominent music experts and composers. The Gentlemen Singers are going to participate in another festival in four days, this time in Germany where they will sing at "Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern". Then the members will spoil their one-month-holiday, for the next concert-season they will prepare in August in Czech mountains.

From the maximum of five "Hs" the ensemble received twice HHHH (very good) and once HHHHH (excellent), which makes the CD absolutely unique concerning the live recordings. The critique says:
"The young men, who called themselves the Gentlemen Singers, are so brave that I would call them even hazardous. After their promising debut album "Canto Ergo Sum" they made totally unbelievable exploit in our regions: they have recorded the clearest live recording one can ever hear…" (Lubos Stehlik)

 25. 4. 2006 - Vocal Ensemble Gentlemen Singers will spend the last April weekend in the Slovak Republic. The ensemble will participate in the International Festival Ad Una Corda. It will take place under the patronage of the president of the Slovak Republic Mr. Ivan Gasparovic. Choirs from the countries of the "Visegrad Four" (Poland, Hungary, Slovak and Czech Republic) will be present at the festival. The concerts will be held in town Pezinok and Castle "Red Stone" not far from Bratislava.

27. 2. 2006 - At web-pages of the Vocal Ensemble Gentlemen Singers was put new review (press) in German which shows the first concerts of the ensemble in Germany.  21. 2. 2006 - Vocal Ensemble Gentlemen Singers has concertized in Germany for the first time. After Saturday´s arrival to Dortmund and borrowing two cars at the airport, the ensemble was accommodated in Dortmund´s four-star hotel Steigenberger. On Sunday the Gentlemen Singers showed clearly their singing skills at two concerts in Nordrhine-Westphalia, in towns Mülheim an der Ruhr and Herdecke. Both concerts were appreciated very much by 700 people so the members of the ensemble could relish the atmosphere and tumultuous ovation of the audience. One thing is certain: the Gentlemen Singers did not sing in Germany for the last time…
 11. 2. 2006 - Vocal Ensemble Gentlemen Singers is going to concertize for the first time in Germany. It will be the fifth visited foreign country of its short history. Before flying to German Dortmund the Gentlemen Singers will perform in two Czech towns Karvina and Horice. After two concerts in German Nordrhine – Westphalia the ensemble is flying back to Prague on Monday 20th February in the evening.
 31. 1. 2006 - Vocal Ensemble Gentlemen Singers will participate in its first concert rendition of one of the most famous American musicals "Fiddler on the Roof". The Prague Symphony Orchestra FOK will accompany on this concert and the Gentlemen Singers will represent singing "villagers" and "Russians". The whole festive concert takes place on 4th February 2006 in Prague´s Hotel Hilton.

In case of being interested in this CD or want to have more information about that, please write at: info@gentlemensingers.com 28. 12. 2005 - Year 2005 = the third year of existence of the Vocal Ensemble Gentlemen Singers. Let´s look back at 2005 in brief:
The ensemble had 45 concerts and concertized in three foreing countries including the Netherlands, Poland and the U.S.A. The Gentlemen Singers performed in Czech Televisions four times, e.g. in Chamber Evening with Music and Poetry, Terra Musica, Awards of Ministry of Culture 2005 etc. The members were guests of radio broadcasting about the Gentlemen Singers seven times (once abroad). They performed in the framework of music festivals twelve times, e.g. in World Festival of Singing for Men and Boys – USA, The Festival in Des Moines – USA, Dekada Muzyki Organowej, Chóralnej i Kameralnej – Poland, The Three Rings Arts Festival – Prague etc. In Czech and foreign journals were published several articles about the Gentlemen Singers, critiques of concerts or CD reviews. They recorded new CD called LIVE and they partook in recording for a radio play. In the framework of Krnov Music Festival they concertized together with famous Czech singer Eva Urbanova.
Thank you for your support in 2005 and keep informed about the events of the Vocal Ensemble Gentlemen Singers also in not less interesting year 2006.
23. 12. 2005 - Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2006 with the Vocal Ensemble Gentlemen Singers. 1. 12. 2005 - At web-pages of the Vocal Ensemble Gentlemen Singers was put new review (press) in English which shows the last concert of the ensemble in the framework of November concert tour in the Netherlands. 28. 11. 2005 - Vocal Ensemble Gentlemen Singers came back home from its successful concert tour in the Netherlands. The Gentlemen Singers are going to concertize there in November 2006 again and the concert tour for the year 2007 is in the pipeline at the moment. The skills of "Czech gentlemen" were appreciated by local critics whose reviews you will find soon at these web-sites.  24. 11. 2005 - Vocal Ensemble Gentlemen Singers had a free day on Tuesday so it was a great chance to have an active "voice" rest in the framework of its tour in the Netherlands. The Gentlemen Singers visited the Amsterdam Arena to see the Champion´s League match between Ajax Amsterodam and Sparta Prague. The following concert took place in The Hague in the residence of Czech Embassy where after the concert was a big reception including original Czech brewed bier.
 22. 11. 2005 - Vocal Ensemble Gentlemen Singers has concertized in first two concert places. The first concert was held on Texel Island and the second one in the castle coming from the 13th century in Medemblik. The Gentlemen Singers also participated in a musical programme on Dutch Radio where the members had a live performance including interview in English.
17. 11. 2005 - On Saturday 19th November 2005 the Vocal Ensemble Gentlemen Singers is going to perform in the Netherlands for the second time. The Gentlemen Singers are going to concertize eight times there and they will participate in a culture programme on Dutch Radio Station as well. The next tour to the Netherlands (and Belgium) will be held in November 2006. 12. 11. 2005 - New recording of the Vocal Ensemble Gentlemen Singers is going to come out in a week: "The Gentlemen Singers LIVE" is name of the upcoming CD and it will conclude the selection of live profile concert "From the Renaissance to Spirituals". In the foreseeable future there will be some song extracts so keep track of these websites, please. 12. 10. 2005 - On Friday 14th October 2005 the Vocal Ensemble Gentlemen Singers is going to perform in Poland for the first time. After the concerts in the Netherlands, Luxembourg and the United States of America it will be the 4th visited foreign country.
